Final Artwork Approved

Everyday, we are constantly being briefed, With countless demands to follow else's plans, An undetermined deadline received, Multiple proposals we will have to present, So we research tirelessly to discover, Collecting ideas and inspirations, From concepts that worked for others, To impressions that always met expectations, Originality may seem to be the winner, But as briefed, it’s a must to follow guidelines, Keeping brand identity is the only answer, So we put aside and archive our own outlines, After copies, sketches and storyboarding of hopeful entries, We expand these ideas as much as allowed, The kerning of characters that spaces intently, Adjusting alignment so it does not appear too loud, The layout of shapes, masking the unwanted to refine, With mixes of spot colours and gradient hues, Where exact values must follow these shades assigned, Just to en...

Today's Love

Today I love, Effortlessly without hesitation and judgement, With wisdom and lessons learnt, Yesterday's Love was something else, Something far different, It was a yearning, a want, an accessory, Full of schemes, complications and targets, But somehow burnt like a cheap candle, That smokes with uncertainty yet smell of a welcoming hunger, In our bodies, butterflies reside and heart beats like a rave gone wrong, An excitement of a new beginning, That finally, this may be the one that makes us whole, A false hope that our need for another will conquer all, All our despair, hopelessness and loneliness, How I was sadly mistaken but gladly taught, That Love, was tainted, not by us, But by the image we hang above ourselves, With lists of perfection that had to be ticked or imperfections crossed out, A desire through eyes that only see our own reflection, But somehow, that clarity was never apparent, Now, I know better, Because today, Love...

Star-stuff Finding Home

From the hearts of dying stars, Releasing fragments of immortality, The substance and essence of what we are, Forged from the very light we wish upon when we see, From distances too far to understand, Bridging empty spaces between and beyond, Where Timeless reaches its invisible hand, Rearranging possibilities, continuance reborn, But in all that eternity and infinity, There's a thought I always pondered most, It is to know if our hearts came to be, Of star-stuff that emanates from the same host, Even if not, through the separation we came, These remnants dispersed throughout the darkness to roam, Hoping somewhere, sometime it could be reclaimed, Into a someone who will again, find home.

Bodies

To some, the body is a temple, A place of worship, Or where divinity resides. To others, the body is just a vehicle, In constant upkeep, Savouring their short ride. For some, it is a canvas, Inked with beliefs and hopes, Happiness, joy, sadness and anguish. Depiction of artworks and anthems, Full of shapes and trope, With death, they'll all soon vanish. We are bound to expire, Limited to our being, Biologically and chemically defined. Details to admire, Within years that are fleeting, Our physicality well confined. Some put it on the line, Risking skin and muscles, An object for benefit. Others, well used to shine, Enduring many struggles, A vessel, to where they commit. The body will perish, Soon, returning to nature, Be it in blessing or a curse. But its efforts are cherished, An expression of a Creator, Ever-changing the ...

Fragile - Handle with Care

A thumping gift, Believed in vain, Careless to've wished, Pristine it'll remain, Its vigour we've risked, In love we proclaim, But its brawn deceived, Its life nearly slain, Mending the broken, Piecing all the gaps, Parts do stay open, Cherishing the scraps, Hunt for the chosen, Knowing it's a trap, Risk has been woven, Prior to bubble wrap, Life does defile, Shatter and bare, Truth from denials, As do wears and tears, Lessons worthwhile, Wisdoms do dare, Love comes with trials, So handle with care.
